Wainui's New Lifeguards

19 Dec 2015 Posted by Wainui SLSC

We are very excited to welcome eight newly qualified lifeguards to Wainui Surf Club.
Congratulations to Zavier Low, Connor Putnam, Louis Birkhead, Reuben Mottart, Geogre Thorpe, Bonnie Grealish, Charlotte Powdrell, and Luke Whibley.
They all sat their Surf Lifeguard Award Exam on the 18/19th December and did extremely well in the first aid and theory, all achieving high marks in the theory test (with one 100% score- Zavier Low!).
On the Saturday morning they blitzed the 400 meter swim, ocean run-swim-run and tube rescues, managing to avoid hypothermia in the freezing southerly conditions. They are a credit to their fantastic instructors, Jeremy Lockwood and John Minogue, who prepared them very well for the exam.
They will all be great additions to our lifeguarding team and we look forward to seeing them on patrols.
