Our very own Jnr coach Sonia Keepa is competing in the lifesaving at world masters games this weekend up in Auckland . She's racing the board ,swims and beach events . She has been training hard for months and has got super fit and fast preparing to take on the best athletes in the world in her age group. We wish you the very best of luck and hope you kick ass in your events your racing in. Go hard Sonia . Yeeew.

Wainui Surf Sport Athletes to Represent Gisborne in Team Challenge

The 2017 New Zealand Representative Challenge is based around a comprehensive competition programme conducted over one day of high level racing representing your area. An overall point score will be maintained with the winner being declared the 2017 New Zealand Representative Challenge Champions.

Wainui Junior Carnival 2017

Wainui SLSC will host the first Junior Carnival of 2017 on the Gisborne Junior Surf Calendar tomorrow, Saturday 14 January from 8:30am.
Come out to the club and check out the regions juniors from ages 8 to 14 competing in a range of water and beach races. Wainui Junior's welcome Waikanae and Midway Surf Clubs to the coast for a morning of fun racing that will involve most of the individual events contested at Oceans, NZ Junior Surf Life Saving Nationals to be held at Mt Maunganui March 2-5 2017.
All Wainui participants are asked to please meet at the club for registration and warm up at 7:30am, prepared for a prompt 8:30am start. Remember club cap, hi vis vest, togs, goggles, water, snacks, sun screen, towels and something warm to put on. There will be a fundraising BBQ going at the club so bring along some money and help support the club.
Conditions are looking perfect for an awesome morning!

Club Open Day - Welcome 2016/17 Season

Wainui SLSC invites the community, new and existing members to the Club Open Day on Sunday 6 November starting at 10am. Come along and see what's happening at the club this season, register and become a member, sign up for patrol, information on hiring the club, becoming a sponsor and enjoy the fundraising BBQ from the best deck on the beach.

Look forward to seeing you all and enjoying a long safe summer on the beach.

National Pool Champs 2016

A record 603 competitors are set to take on the 2016 Surf Life Saving New Zealand Pool Championships this weekend with the annual event making a move to the Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre at AUT Millennium. Of those are 19 athletes from Wainui will be competing across all ages groups from u11 to Masters.

Music night went extremely well and was a very entertaining fun night with loads of positive feedback from those that attended. The crowd was very enthusiastic and the event gave us the opportunity to showcase some great local talent in our community and for everyone who came a long a sense of feeling part of the club.

We need your support to help with the shortfall to purchase and upgrade body boards, soft top Junior paddle boards, competition equipment for both junior and senior members, gear trailers and much more.
