Introduction to Surf Coaching Course

The Introduction to Surf Coaching Course provides an entry level coaching course for parents and clubbies new to coaching. The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills needed to coach at entry level at a Su rf Life Saving Club. It covers the full range of surf life saving activitie s with a special emphasis on Junior Surf.

Club Open Day

Club Open Day - welcome in the new season\, memberships and registrations, information on Junior Surf, Patrolling, Club Apparel, Venue Hire and what's happening at the club this season. Warm welcome extended t o the community, existing and new members.

First Aid Level 1 Sat 12 and Sun 13 November 2016

Sat, Nov. 12, 2016 8:30am — 5:00pm
This is a 2 day resuscitation course covering to following topics: Assessment of emergency situations, basic life support, soft tissue i njuries, bleeding, shock, fractures and head injuries. hypothermia, ast hma, oxygen delivery systems, burns, asthma and basic drowning physiolog y.
First Aid Level 1 is a pre-requisite for the Senior Lifeguard Award, I nstructors Award and National Lifeguard school.

Surf Officials Level 1 Course

Sat, Nov. 12, 2016 8:30am — 5:00pm
The Surf Official Level One course provides an entry level anddevelopmental programme for Surf Life Saving Club members to pursue or cont inue officiating at surf lifesaving events. The course aims to provide the basic knowledge and skills needed to officiate at club and regional levels.

Wainui Junior Surf - Olympic Pool Water Confidence Day and Levels testing

Sun, Nov. 13, 2016 10:00am — 11:00am
Annual pre season water confidence and swim levels testing. Bring along your togs, goggles, towel, warm clothing (wetsuit may be option al for younger participants). Entry to the pool $1, please enter the pool and meet your age group coach on the grass by the playground.

Developing Surf Coach Course - 2 day course Sat 19 & Sun 20 November 2016

The Developing Surf Coach course is designed to help coaches develop the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to plan and deliver an effective coaching session. The target audience for this course are coa ches of developing athletes of all ages and abilities that are starting to develop fundamental surf lifesaving skills. This course is a prerequisite f or the Competitive Surf Coach Course.

Patrols Captains Course

The Senior Lifeguard Award Patrol Captains Course provides information on what you need to know and be able to do as a Patrol Captain. The qualification covers theory on leadership topics and practical scenarios f or practice. This course prepares Surf Lifeguard for the leadership role th at is essential to being a successful Patrol Captain. (This award is a pre requisite for the national lifeguard school and the final step for members to obtain the advance lifeguard award)

Instructors Course

The Instructors Course is the compulsory first step for Surf Lifeguards to gain the Instructors Award and become instructors for the Surf Lifeguard Award (SLA) and/or the Senior Lifeguard Award (SLA-IRBD). The cou rse enables members to obtain relevant theory about instruction and teachin g so it can be utilised when training members.

Wainui Junior Surf

Sun, Nov. 20, 2016 10:00am — 11:00am
Wainui Juniors from U5's to U14's take to the beach for the first session of the season. You will need - hi vis vest, club cap, togs (we tsuits option), water, snacks, sun screen and something warm to put on w hen you've finished.

SLA Exam 1 Friday 25 & Sat 26 November

The first SLA (Surf Lifeguard Award) exam for the season. 5:30pm Friday 25 November and 7:30am Saturday 26 November. Venue to be advised. Good luck to all this years candidates.
