As a volunteer club, every year it costs us a substantial amount of funds to operate our key services. This includes ensuring we can provide lifeguards on our beach during the summer months and resources to keep our lifeguards fit, skilled and trained well. To operate we require key lifesaving equipment such as IRB's, rescue boards, radios, rescue vehicle, rescue tubes, fins and lifeguard training.
As a club we have club running costs including building maintenance, travel and accommodation for regional, national and international events. In the sports and junior surf area we require resources for our athletes and kids to train, compete and learn life long skills. This includes boards, surf skis, canoes, boogie boards, tents for events, junior participation equipment, club uniforms and coaches.
As a club we work hard to raise funds during the year to assist with sausage sizzles, garage sales, Bingo nights, door-to-door appeals, local trust grants, donations and sponsorships and club hireage.
BUT there is a serious shortfall...

We have established an endowment fund with the Sunrise Foundation.
We hope that with the support of the Sponge Bay, Wainui and Makorori communities we can build a strong fund, which will provide a regular guaranteed source of income in the future and help us become less reliant on sponsorship.
Any donation you make to our endowment fund will be invested, protected and grown each year in line with inflation. The surplus investment income will be granted back to us each and every year, meaning your donation will keep supporting our club forever.
