Wainui SLSC member Laura Quilter has been named as a member of the Black Fins 2016 team.
Laura is joined by fellow Gisborne surf lifesavers Cory Taylor and Chris Dawson, both of Midway, to compete at Rescue 2016, the Lifesaving World Championships in the Netherlands during September this year. The Gisborne trio are part of the 12 strong NZ team who will be gunning to win the Championships for the third time in a row.
Held every two years, the Lifesaving World Championships is the largest international lifesaving sport competition in the world and attracts competitors from over 40 nations.
This year, it is being held in The Netherlands from September 1-18 with the national team's competition taking place from September 6-11 where the Black Fins will be defending their consecutive titles of world champions.
