Wainui Junior Pool Champs team came out firing this morning on day one of the SLSNZ National Pool Champs at Auckland's AUT Millennium Pool.
Finishing the day in 6th place overall the team blazed up the pool;
Jack Keepa, u14 boys - gold 50m with Fins, gold & a new NZ record in 50m Rescue Medley & bronze 50m brick carry
Team of Jack Keepa & Jamie Joblin gold in 100m patient tow
Relay team - Jack Keepa, Jamie Joblin, Jonty Evans & Brad Hill; bronze in brick relay & bronze in 4x50 rescue medley relay
Imogen Amor-Bendall bronze in 50m brick carry
Huge congrats to all the team today on epic swims, PB's & the best can do team spirit.

Our very own Wainui crew, Sean Hovell, Stella and Jasmine Smith, represented NZ at the World SUP and Prone Paddle Board Champs in Denmark during September 2107.
On a cold winters Sunday morning Gisborne's Surf Sport Pool Athletes showed up at the Olympic Pool to compete in the Gisborne Pool Champs Event.

Wainui Members were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to Surf Life Saving in the Gisborne Region at a night of celebrations.
Last night saw the annual Wainui SLSC prize giving celebrated in style with a fantastic turn out from our members. Recognition was given & success rewarded in a traditional family atmosphere.
Huge thanks to our awesome sponsors who continue to support the club. Also to all our volunteer life guards who front up for patrols & keep our beach safe.

Bingo Fundraiser is on again set for May 13 2017
Our very own Jnr coach Sonia Keepa is competing in the lifesaving at world masters games this weekend up in Auckland . She's racing the board ,swims and beach events . She has been training hard for months and has got super fit and fast preparing to take on the best athletes in the world in her age group. We wish you the very best of luck and hope you kick ass in your events your racing in. Go hard Sonia . Yeeew.
The 2017 New Zealand Representative Challenge is based around a comprehensive competition programme conducted over one day of high level racing representing your area. An overall point score will be maintained with the winner being declared the 2017 New Zealand Representative Challenge Champions.
