Running Costs

We spend this on equipment, coaches, training, administration, running costs, building and equipment, maintenance, travel and accommodation for regional, national and international events.

As the season starts, we need boogie boards, soft paddle boards, fibreglass paddle boards for juniors and seniors, surf skis, a motorbike, canoes, trailers to carry equipment, tents for shelter at events. But we work hard to raise funds too with sausage sizzles, garage sales, Bingo and Blingo nights (the latest raising $14k), door-to-door appeals, local trust grants, donations and sponsorships, club hireage ...

BUT there is a serious shortfall...

Help us future proof our club
Sunrise Fund poster

We have established an endowment fund with the Sunrise Foundation.

We hope that with the support of the Sponge Bay, Wainui and Makarori communities we can build a strong fund, which will provide a regular guaranteed source of income in the future and help us become less reliant on sponsorship.

Any donation you make to our endowment fund will be invested, protected and grown each year in line with inflation. The surplus investment income will be granted back to us each and every year, meaning your donation will keep supporting our club forever.
